THE NRA
Taking the NRA position on guns
Time and again, Cheryl Brown voted the NRA position on guns and stood in the way of common sense policies to make our neighborhoods safe, even voting against a ban on the same type of assault weapons used in the San Bernardino massacre.

Say Aloha to Dirty Money
Aloha, Chevron Cheryl! In 2014, Cheryl Brown took a trip to Hawaii paid for by the oil and tobacco industry. She was wined and dined by business interests — who had paid thousands each to meet privately with elected officials like Brown 2,500 miles from her district.

FRACKING
Voting for more fracking
Cheryl Brown always puts the oil and gas industry ahead of our community's safety. She's voted for more fracking, fewer fracking regulations, and watered-down clean air rules — while also attending fancy fine dining events on the energy industry's dime.

Leading the Assembly in Perks
In 2015 Brown led the Assembly — at $330k — in office spending. She spent campaign funds on personal travel, and enjoyed "fine dining" just before a key fracking vote in favor of the industry group picking up the tab.

Cheryl Brown also has a disturbing habit of "taking a walk" for critical votes on common-sense gun policies, failing to show up to important votes over and over again.

Statement of Economic Interests {Form 700], Cheryl Brown, 2014-2015
Cheryl brown sold our community to the oil and gas industry. She's voted for more fracking, fewer fracking regulations, and watered-down clean air rules — while also attending fancy fine dining events on the energy industry's dime.
In 2013 Cheryl Brown and her chief of staff attended a nearly $13,000 dinner — hosted and paid for by the oil industry. That same year Brown voted against regulations for handling and monitoring fracking wastewater, voted against enacting a moratorium on fracking until regulations were in place, and voted for a watered down "environmental" bill, SB4 which was supported by the oil industry, and opposed by environmental groups.
